Is it wrong to spare certain weeds from the compost pile while condemning the lives of others?
As I started to weed toady, so many little thistles and nasturtiums are sprouting up. I just think that if they really want to grow there, by the curb and traffic, I should not assert my prowess over them, right? So today, I am saving the little thistles and the nasturtiums that are volunteering to grow. They will make the place look fuller perhaps? This may just be a rationale, and I am ok with that!
So that is my final decision- they stay.
Today, I added an Agave medio-picta alba, and an Agave weberii and an Agave medio-picta. In between, I spread out the remaining plants i rooted form Susan a while back of the Salvia sonomensis.
While out there, I noticed the ceanothus in full regalia and the sparaxis bulbs trying to make an impact. They are so diminutive this first year, I hesitate to even call attention to them right now. Come back next year for a more impressive stand. The main reason I went out was to add 4 Echium pininana's but had to clear a little space in my backyard.
Ceanothus in the middle, Aloe nobilis on bottom and Agave medio-picta alba on top.
