Aloe vera

Today I got to add one of my favorite plants ever! The Aloe vera. It is even in flower right now. This plant came from Channing and I am amazed and grateful to have it. Somehow I didn't make a star portrait of it for this posting, but you can see it in the picture below.

Other plants added are, agaves, delosperma, cotyledons, a ceanothus and a few more Echiums. The Cotyledons and Delosperma came from Christy. When I helped her move some puya near her driveway, they were in the way.

The plant with the tall yellow flower in the picture to the left, is the Aloe vera. Moving further left are two Agave angustifolia, a clump of the Cotyledon from Christy, behind that an Agave bovicornuta reggae time and lastly on the left of the rock an Agave parryi. There seems to be asphalt in a section of the median so I amy not be able to plant anything in this stretch. But beyond this patch of asphalt, I planted four more Agave parryi and moved one Agave weberii from the first section of the median I planted last year. I am now moving steadily toward the narrow part of the median.

The furthest section planted so far.       Another view of the Aloe vera section.

  1. From you picture it seems that one of the Aloe Vera species (there are over 250 varities) you planted was Aloe Vera Barbandensis Miller. If you would like to see how you can use this as a medicinal plant you can access the followng blog

Good luck with your Aloe Vera section.
