Today I learned first hand of another lovely drought tolerant plant, Parahebe perfoliata. It is related to the Miner's lettuce. Stephanie was giving away two good size plants from her front rockery. They sure got wilted by the time they got into the ground. They do not look like much in the back of the truck or in the ground. The light was not ideal for picture taking, but there I was. I will need to give them some TLC I suspect, because of the wilt. The weather is really odd to me. It is hot sooner in the year and cold at night and even there seems to be rain coming. All but the cold evenings are good I guess.
Here one is installed.
Other plants I added today were:
Opuntia sp.
Euphorbia lambii
Penstemon sp. (don't know the variety or color at this point)
One very special plant from the very special Christy is a Rosa californica shown in the picture to the left. I am going to make sure it makes it as it not only looks nice it is fragrant. Huh, now that I think about that last attribute, it is not going to be appreciated by many as this is the middle of one of the busiest thorough fares in San Francisco... oh well, I will reap the benefits.
Finally, I noticed another Sparaxis flower leaning out into view. Pretty.
