Precipitation

The air was filled with moisture today. Surprisingly though, the ground still is not wet below 6". Admittedly, it is not really the best time to be out, but it was good for the new plants and because this median is much wider and therefore safer than O'Shaughnessy's median, I went out.

I added lots of plants, artemisia, aptenia, crassula lycopodioides, a big Agave americana, some bulbine and calandrinia. The aptenia will take a while to flower, but when it does lots of hot pink is in store!

I was very excited to see that the Furcraea bedinghausiis that I rescued from O'Shaughnessy Green disaster back in January (link) are looking fairly good. They look bet up and they were - they took the hardest hit and were found laid flat to the ground, but not mangled. It has been touch and go with dry winter and the hot March days, it was a struggle for these big guys, but they look like they are coming around now.

So take a look at the Athanasia. Weird and lovely.
